Canadian Video Game Awards 2016

video game awardsThe 7th annual Canadian Video Game Awards were handed out recently in Montreal, featuring many of Canada’s top studios with game titles released this year. Covering twenty categories, including the Fans’ Choice: Best Canadian-Made Game and Best International Game which were determined by an online vote, the winners highlight some great work by talented Canadian game devs – including some we know!

The CVG award winners were announced from over 50 finalists, which represented games developed both in Canada and internationally. We’ve highlighted a few of the 2016 winners below, but you can find the complete list here.

Game of the Year/Best Console Game/Best Game Design:
Deus Ex: Mankind Divided (Eidos-Montreal)


Best Mobile/Handheld Game:
Severed (Drinkbox Studios)


Best PC Game/Best Indie Game:
Stories: The Path of Destinies (Spearhead Games)


Best Debut Game:
Jotun: Valhalla Edition (Thunder Lotus Games)


Best VR Game/Best Technology/Best Game Innovation:
The Gallery – Episode 1: Call of the Starseed (Cloudhead Games)


Fans’ Choice – Best Canadian-Made Game:
Dead by Daylight (Behaviour Digital)
